Fall

Fall is the Metal-phase season. It is a season that honors decline and encourages letting go.

After the harvested is gathered, plants’ life force retreats to the root. Leaves fall and compost. As in each of the five seasons, the strength of future seasons is created in the present one. The rotting leaves release nutrients into the soil so that next year new growth will be fueled.
